Safety

Last updated: July 7, 2026

Crush is built around school verification, private reveal surfaces, mutual chat, and reporting tools. Safety concerns can be sent to hello@crushso.com.

Overview

Crush is for current college students who are at least 18. The app is designed around one school-local Daily Drop, limited reveal surfaces, and private in-app chat.

Crush has no tolerance for harassment, explicit content, threats, impersonation, or abusive users.

School Verification

Users sign in, verify a valid .edu address, and are tied to a school before participating. Duplicate school identities may be blocked to protect the integrity of each school-local Drop.

Photo and Profile Review

Photos and profile content can be reviewed before visibility. Crush may reject or remove content that appears unsafe, explicit, abusive, misleading, spammy, or otherwise violates the Terms of Service.

Matching Boundaries

Drops respect school, eligibility, compatibility, activity, safety filters, blocks, reports, cooldowns, and active chat exclusions. No match is shown when no valid candidate is available.

Chat Boundaries

Chat opens only through the app's mutual matching rules. Users can pass, unmatch, block, or report. Crush may close threads or restrict accounts for safety, abuse prevention, or policy enforcement.

Notifications and Privacy

Daily, chat unlock, and message notifications can be managed in the app and in iOS Settings. Message notification previews do not include message text.

Reporting Concerns

Use in-app reporting tools where available or contact hello@crushso.com with safety concerns. If there is immediate danger, contact emergency services or campus safety.
